Govenor Pat Quinn has promised his Illinois constituents and the citizenary a ‘‘frugal’’ but not “chintzy’’ inauguration which features the Chicago Catz, the Windy City's premiere party band (also available for weddings and corporate events). As stated in a Chicago Sun-Times article, Quinn indicated the celebrations will be meaningful, yet “thrifty,’’ when he and the other state constitutional officers are sworn into office January 10, 2011 in Springfield, Illinois, the state's capital. The Illinois Inaugural Committee 2011 is raising money from private donors to pay for it. The festivities include an inter-faith service, an open house at the Executive Mansion with Lieutenant Governor-elect Sheila Simon and the Inaugural Ball at the Prairie Capital Convention Center featuring your favorite band the Chicago Catz!!!

CHICAGO CATZ GIG NEWS: Jan 02 2011 - The Catz Perform First Gig Of 2011 Supporting Benefit To Save Underground Wonder Bar

On Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 8:00pm to 10:00pm, the Chicago Catz played at the benefit held on the last night of The Underground Wonder Bar's original location at 10 East Walton Sreet in Chicago. The event was held to help save and support the venue's continued existence and move to its new temporary location at 810 North Clark Street and eventually to their possible new permanent Chicago home at 736 North Clark Street. The Catz wanted everyone to "pack this Muther out" since it was a BENEFIT to save the Wonder Bar...so they asked CHICAGO to "SHOW YOUR LOVE SUNDAY JAN.2,2011" for the great Wonder Bar and to "Keep Music 'LIVE'...365" !!! The New Underground Wonder Bar opens at their new location on 810 North Clark Street on January 5, 2011.

CHICAGO CATZ GIG NEWS: Dec 31 2010 - ChiCatz Paw Their Way Into The New Year Of 2011

The Chicago Catz, the Chicago area's premiere wedding, corporate and party band, pawed and clawed their way into the new year of 2011 by performing at Binion's Horseshoe Casino in "The Venue" this past Friday, December 31, 2010 at 11:00pm  and funked the night away until 3:00am January 1st, 2011.  The casino is located at 777 Casino Center Drive, Hammond, IN 46320. The ticket prices ranged from  $95 to $175 depending on the package deal chosen; the VIP was $175 (included dinner at Jack Binion’s Steakhouse followed by admission to the Venue Late Night Party featuring cocktails, live entertainment and party favors) and the NYE (Included dinner at the Village Square Buffet followed by admission to the Venue Late Night Party featuring cocktails, live entertainment and party favors) was only $95. "The Venue" transformed into the biggest party room in Chicagoland for the New Year’s Eve 2010 countdown celebration. Doors opened at 11pm and the Chicago Catz shared the stage with a Chicago favorite, DJ Squeeze. You should have been there!
